SPACE AND MATTER SERIES
Space and Matters is an experimental body of work investigating the intersection between painting, object, relief, and spatial intervention. Expanding beyond the traditional flat surface, the series explores materiality as both a formal and conceptual language, where texture, mass, and physical structure become integral components of the image itself.
Through the use of sculptural elements, relief structures, industrial materials, and layered surfaces, the works challenge the conventional perception of painting as illusionistic space. Instead, the image becomes a physically present object operating between painting and sculpture, representation and material reality.
The series is driven by an interest in the psychological and symbolic potential of matter — its ability to carry traces of tension, fragility, erosion, memory, and transformation. Surface deformation and spatial disruption function not merely as aesthetic gestures, but as extensions of the conceptual and emotional framework of the work.
Space and Matters represents an ongoing authorial inquiry into the boundaries of image, materiality, and perception, situated within a dialogue between contemporary painting, object-based practice, and spatial experimentation.
